I must be honest, when Fresh and Easy first opened I thought it was a health food store. I thought the Fresh meant healthy and Easy meant quick. I was surprised to find Totino's Pizza Rolls there. When I got to my sister's house after my trip she informed me that was not the case. Oh well. I did find out that Fresh and Easy did not use high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors, artificial flavors,or added trans fat in any of their food. I was sold. It is easy to run in and grab something quick for lunch such as one of their freshly made sandwiches, salads, or sushi trays. Same thing with dinner, there have been a few times I grab a family meal for dinner.
Since they have released the Friend's Card they make it an even better place to start. You get 1 point per dollar spent, but sometimes they have bonuses. I have cashed in quite a few dollars.
If you need somewhere fast, healthy, and easy to get in and out of Fresh and Easy is the place for you.
**I am part of the Fresh and Easy Campaign from BZZAgent. What is BZZAgent you ask.
BZZAgent is a company that helps other companies get their products and
services noticed using a word of mouth method. It is pretty awesome. I
have been involved in quite a few campaigns. If you would like to know more feel free to check out the above link or email me at antisocialum @ gmail.com (no spaces).**

San Diego
So last weekend the husband and I decided to go down to San Diego. We started off out trip with a visit to the San Diego Zoo. I have not been there since sometime around 1985 so everything was new to me..
That was the end of the San Diego Zoo. We were there for 5 hours and still never got to see everything. I highly recommend taking the bus tour. It is included in the price of the ticket and from the top level you can see everything.
The next day we drove up to San Clemente so my husband could get work done on his tattoo at San Clemente Tattoo. It is a nice shop that does wonderful work. While he got his sleeve worked on I read a book. Once we got back to Encinitas (35 miles north of San Diego) it was time to make dinner plans. We decided to go to Casa Guadalajara for some good Mexican food and huge margaritas. We noticed that we were close the the Coaster Station and decided to see if we could public transit it. After reading the maps we decided that we could take the Coaster from Encinitas to Old Town San Diego for only $22.00 total and it took about 40 minutes each way. Not bad considering we wouldn't be stuck in traffic, have to find parking, and then pay for parking.
The next night we went back into downtown San Diego to have dinner with my cousins and to go to a concert. We got to see Old Man Markley and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. Sadly, I did not get pictures of that night. The next day I was forced to drive home from San Diego an experience that I never want to have again. It is not fun driving 75 on the freeway and seeing something bounce out of some guys truck, come directly at you, and you have no where to go. Luckily it hit the bumper and went under the car. We did have some damage but it was fixable and no one got hurt.
This guy was about 6 feet away with the barrier being some kind of metal net. I wanted to reach in and pet him, but I didn't because I like my fingers |
A Meercat, I thought it was a large ferret. I wanted one so bad... |
A shy lion, she would not turn towards the front to allow me to get a good picture. |
I wanted this polar bear too. |
Pandas are so much bigger in person. |
A mom and her baby hippo. The baby was a year old and weighed a lot! |
A tired tiger. |
There was a baby giraffe born the night before we got there, sadly it never made an appearance outside. |
What is worse that a snake? A two headed snake, CREEPY! |

The husband waiting for the Coaster. |
A view of the Pacific Ocean from the Coaster somewhere around Solana Beach. |
Margaritas! The one on the left was a 32oz strawberry for only $7.95 and the one on the right was a medium peach for $6.95. I knew I wouldn't finish a large one. |
Waiting at Old Town Station for the Coaster home. This is a trolley that runs in certain parts of San Diego. I have ridden these before and found them to be quite reliable. |
Unreal Candy
Before I was offered a campaign on BzzAgent I had no idea what Unreal Candy was.
Click on the picture to go to the webpage I checked out the website and was astonished at the nutritional value comparisons they had on there.
Take their version of M&M's. The candy is made with no corn syrup, no artificial ingredients, no GMO's (genetically modified organism), no preservatives, and has a low glycemic index (good news for me, since I am diabetic). I bought the UN 41 to try and share at work tomorrow for a meeting. They are tasty. They do not taste the same as M&M's to me, they taste like chocolate chips or Sno-Caps. When compared side by side the break down speaks for itself:
UN 41 Peanut M&M's
Serving Size 42 grams 47.9 grams
Calories 190 230
Sugar 19G 31G
Total Fat 10G 9G
Carbs 24G 34G
Fiber 3G 1G
Protein 4G 2G
They also have versions of Peanut M&M's, Snickers, Milky Way, and Peanut Butter cups.
**I learned of this candy via BZZAgent. What is BZZAgent you ask. BZZAgent is a company that helps other companies get their products and services noticed using a word of mouth method. It is pretty awesome. I have been involved in quite a few campaigns. **

Are you ready to unjunk your candy?
I love that the shells are not the same color as M&M's. |

Our First Anniversary and some good news.
Tuesday was our first anniversary. It was hard to believe that we have already been married one year. He was looking forward to eating our cake and I was looking forward to gaining freezer space back. He took it out, unwrapped the many layers, and this is what we saw.
It still looked pretty good. We both grabbed forks and dug in and it tasted WONDERFUL. It was made by a friend of my aunt named Kathy and I must say she did awesome work. Later that night we traveled up to Mount Charleston, a short 30 minute drive from Las Vegas. We were able to book a room, 2 dinners, and 2 breakfasts for $99.00. It was nice to get away from the heat since it was 25 degrees cooler up there. My sneaky husband also added this little treat.
I devoured the strawberries, even though I am not supposed to eat them anymore. The champagne was good too, we only drank half and brought the rest home.
Now for the best part of the anniversary, my husband was rehired. He will be back at the same school he was at last year.

Sleeping...Rambling...Nonsense
Ever since school let out for the summer my sleep schedule has been off. Last night I went to bed at 10:30 p.m., not bad right? I woke up at 12:00 a.m.!! I am going crazy.
I am getting a little cabin fever. Usually when school gets out we take at least a mini vacation. However since the husband lost his job, we put our vacation plans on hold. We were/are (depending on the status of him getting rehired) driving from Las Vegas to Williamsport, P.A., 2353 miles. We must be crazy.
This was us a few years ago in Oakland, C.A. we headed up there to catch a Giants game, then we headed across the bay to see an A's game. Good fun!
